Many Americans are preparing themselves financially for ever-increasing fuel costs by cutting back on driving and carpooling. However, with a 2-ton ambulance and patients that need transporting, EMS departments don't have that luxury.

What is your department doing to offset the rising cost of fuel? Do you have any tips or tricks for sniffing out the lowest fuel prices in your area? Some officials worry that they will have to cut other important programs in order to balance the budget. What ways can departments avoid this? Share your thoughts.
