Schools from around the nation are reporting cases of staph infection, with one death so far. Now a new study states that staph-related deaths may even exceed AIDS-related deaths.

EMS and medical personnel are inherently at a high health risk due to their close contact with patients with infectious diseases. So what precautions do you take to protect yourself? Does your department have a standard practice in place to always wear gloves and eyewear? Does knowing that a patient is infectious alter your care for them? And have you ever had a scare of contracting a disease from a patient?
